Study on Cationic Polyacrylamide /Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate(cas 151-21-3) System

The cationic degree of polyacrylamide was studied by measuring the dynamic surface tension, equilibrium surface tension and electrical conductivity of the cationic polyacrylamide /sodium dodecyl sulfate(cas 151-21-3) system. The higher the cationic degree of the polyelectrolyte was, the higher the cationic degree. The shorter the time required to achieve the balance of the surface tension, the smaller the balance surface tension.

For the concentration range of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)(<0.02 mol·L-1), when the concentration of polyacrylamide was smaller than that of precipitation, we found that the conductivity of cationic polyacrylamide /SDS solution was higher than that of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS). The conductivity is large and the conductivity increases with the increase of the ionic electrolyte. The results show that the cationic degree of the polyelectrolyte chain is the main factor that reduces the surface tension of the sodium dodecyl sulfate(cas 151-21-3) and the increase of the conductivity of the solution.
