AM and sodium p-styrene sulfonate(2695-37-6) as the monomer

AM and sodium p-styrene sulfonate(2695-37-6) as the monomer, carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) as the initiator, using copper powder /triamine as the catalyst, using single electron transfer active radical polymerization (SET (AM-SSS) method, four-arm star binary copolymer P (AM-SSS) was prepared by aqueous solution at 25 ℃ using single electron transfer active radical polymerization.

The effects of the amount of catalyst system, the amount of initiator, the temperature of initiator and the amount of functional monomer AM and sodium p-styrene sulfonate(2695-37-6) on the viscosity average molecular weight(Mn) of the polymer were investigated by infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The apparent viscosity of the polymer solution in different concentrations of salt solution was also determined.

The results showed that the molar ratio of monomer AM and SSS was 680:20, the initiator mass fraction was 0.068%, and the mass fraction of monomer was 0.7%. The obtained polymer product had the same molecular weight. The highest yield reached 1.76 million and the polymerization yield was up to 89%. In addition, the effect of Na + on the apparent viscosity of polyacrylamide was more significant than Mg2.
